Republicans to select magisterial district nominees in early June

The Clinton County Republican County Committee, pursuant to Kentucky law and State Republican Party rules, will nominate two GOP nominees to fill out the unexpired terms of two magistrates in Clinton County.

The Republican Committee will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 4 in the Circuit Courtroom (upstairs) of the Clinton County Courthouse to select a nominee in magisterial districts 3 and 5, where Willard Johnson and Charlotte Bernard, respectively announced their resignations earlier this spring.

Republican County Committee members eligible to vote consists of the three precinct officers, including Captain, Co-Captain and Youth Captain and the members of the County Executive Committee.

The nominees chosen shall appear on the November ballot under the Republican device as the only Republican candidate in each magisterial race.

Any person who desires to be considered as a candidate for the position(s) must contact party chairman Doug Thrasher prior to the meeting at 606-688-2191 or at his office in the Granville Hotel building. Any interested person is also expected to attend the meeting and be prepared to make a presentation on their own behalf to the county committee.
