On May 31, the Albany Police Department along with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, investigated a complaint involving the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Chief Ernest Guffey had been receiving numerous complaints about the manufacture of methamphetamine at 572 Ridge Road located in the Lettered Oak Community.

Officer Jim Guffey of the Albany Police Department along with Sheriff Ricky Riddle and Deputy Steve Martin went to the residence and made contact with the individual who resides at that residence.

The individual was mirandized (advised of his rights) and a consent to search was obtained. During the search, numerous items were found that is used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, as well as meth oil, and other drug paraphernalia.

Shaun P. Brodbeck, 33, of 572 Ridge Road, Albany, was arrested and charged as follows: Manufacturing Methamphetamine-first offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance-first degree, first offense (Methamphetamine), Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The investigation is still ongoing by both the Albany Police Department and Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.

Board of Education to participate in Summer Food

Service Program

The Clinton County Board of Education is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows:

* Clinton County High School (prep site): 65 High School Dr. Monday-Thursday (closed on Fridays); Breakfast: 7-8:30 a.m.; Lunch: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

* Albany Elementary School: 819 3rd Street: June 4-28, Monday-Thursday (closed on Fridays). Breakfast: 7-8:30 a.m. Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

* Clinton County Public Library: 302 King Drive. June 4-29. Monday-Friday (closed on Thursdays): Lunch only from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

* Clinton County Wellness Center: 225 Bobby Grant Dr. Serving on “Thursdays only” through the month of June, lunch only 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon June 7, 14, 21 and 28.

* Mountain View Park: North Hwy. 127. Serving on “Fridays only” through June, the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th. Lunch only from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m.
