The Clinton County Fair kicked off with its usual events on Monday night with the Miss Teen and Miss pageants in the center ring and the Mule Pull in the lower ring.
Depite the 90-degree weather, fans came out to view both events for a solid turnout on the first night of the week.
In the top photo, the mule team of Mitchell Kinser, Glasgow, weighing in at 3,320 pounds, pulled the sled with 6,800 pounds down the track.
Carnival Tyme is this year’s midway attraction, with ride armbands available nightly at a cost of $15.
As the fair continues this week, daytime temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Family Night was held Tuesday, too late for press deadline, with the Demolition Derby on Wednesday night.
Other main events for this week include, ATV/Dirt Bike Rodeo on Thursday, Horse Show and Tractor Give-away on Friday night and the Truck Pull and Wresting on Saturday night.
In addition to the above mentioned main events on the schedule, a host of other events are on tap for the rest of this week at the Clinton County Fair, including Exhibit Hall viewing Wednesday (4:00 – 8:00 p.m.), Pet Show Thursday (5:00 p.m.), Horseshoe Pitching Friday (7:00 p.m.) a Livestock Show on Saturday (9:00 a.m.) and a Cornhole Tournament Saturday night (6:00 p.m.)
Several Clinton County residents were selected as top 12 finalist in the Clinton County Fair Miss Teen Pageant.
A good crowd sat and watched as the Mule Pull event took place on the lower track at the Clinton County Fairgrounds Monday night.
Several people stood in line at the dunking booth located behind the grandstands to try their hand at dunking a clown that was part of the carnival set up in the midway.
