John Edward Bowlin, 83, Bowling Green, Kentucky and formerly of Albany, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his residence. He was the son of the late Alvis and Eula Pearl Penticuff Bowlin and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nell Pierce, Elizabeth Kearney and Bernice Bowlin and three brothers, Russell, Lawrence and Pal Bowlin. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of Hillvue Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Ewing Bowlin; a son, Kenneth “Dusty” (Sonia) Bowlin; two daughters, Debbie (Billy) Tarrence and Joann (Steve) Lawson, all of Bowling Green, KY; four brothers, Jimmy (Pat) Bowlin, Gayle Bowlin, Benny (June) Bowlin and Lanny (Ann) Bowlin; two sisters, Eddie (Paul) Avery and Faye Brown, all of Albany; also eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. Central Time at Hardy and Son Funeral Home in Bowling Green with visitation after 10 a.m. Thursday. Online condolences may be made at www.campbell-new.com.
