A Clinton County man was killed and two other Albany residents injured in a one-vehicle fatality crash that occurred in neighboring Pickett County, Tennessee near Byrdstown early Sunday night, June 24.
According to a press release from Public Information Officer Dayla J. Qualls with the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, Robert “Dale” Rains, age 52, of Albany, died from injuries suffered as a result of the wreck that occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday night on Lick Creek Road in Pickett County.
According to the report, Rains was the driver of a 1996 Plymouth Neon, which was traveling west on Lick Creek Road. While negotiating a curve, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and went off the roadway on the left side and struck a rock bluff.
Two passengers in Rains’ vehicle, 51-year-old Brian Kaminski and 43-year-old Maria Kaminski, also both listed as being from Albany, were injured in the accident. However, the report did not indicate where either passenger was transported nor their conditions.
The report did say that Rains was not wearing a seat belt while both Brian and Maria Kaminski were belted at the time of the wreck.
The accident in being investigated by Trooper Stanley Roberts of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
