In the second quarter Clinton County fought back and made more baskets in transition, but the hot shooting Rebels weren’t going away so easily.

The Bulldogs opened up the second quarter with two baskets, one by Wendell Maupin and one by Colby Langford, to cut the lead to three points, 22-19.

Casey answered with a basket of its own, but back-to-back baskets by Keifer Dalton got the Bulldogs to within one point, 24-23.

Maupin was fouled on the next play and went to the foul line where he hit only one of two to tie the score at 24 with 4:36 on the clock.

From that point, it was trading baskets until the end of the period. Casey County hit another three pointer to move up by three, 27-24, but a shot by Stalcup fell with 4:14 on the clock to get to within one point.

As the second half got underway, Clinton County took control of the game with a 5-0 run. Casey answered with a three pointer, but back-to-back baskets by Wayne Stearns and Maupin put the Bulldogs up by eight points with 5:06 on the clock in the third quarter, 45-37.
