Marijuana growing arrest made

An anonymous tip has led to the arrest of an Albany woman, according to a press release by the Albany Police Department.

Chief Ernest Guffey had received a couple of complaints about the area at Robin Lane, Mt. View trailer park in Albany and the possible cultivation of marijuana.

On Wednesday, July 4, Officer Jim Guffey went to the residence and made contact with Jimmy Melton and Cindy Brummett, who reside at the residence. Officer Guffey received consent to search and discovered approximately 30 marijuana plants in various stages of growth in the back yard of the residence. Brummett then gave a written confession that the plants belonged to her.

Brummett was charged with Cultivation of Marijuana-five plants or more, 1st offense, a class D felony.

The investigation continues by the Albany Police Department.
