Three car pileup leaves one Albany woman injured

A three vehicle pile-up occurred Saturday at 12:20 p.m. in front of the former Hilltop Grocery Store, sending three people to the hospital.

Clinton County Sheriff Rick Riddle, Clinton County EMS, and the Kentucky State Police were on hand just minutes after the accident occurred.

Riddle said Unit 1 was a 2002 Chevy Tahoe operated by Robert F. Tanner of Byrdstown, TN. Tanner was traveling east on KY Hwy. 90, towards Monticello, when he ran up on, Unit 2, Margaret Patton of Albany. She was driving a 2007 Toyoto Camry and was attempting to make a left turn towards Latham’s Tire shop.

Tanner hit Patton and forced her vehicle into Unit 3 which was a 2000 Ford F-250 pulling a boat on a trailer. The F-250 was operated by James B. Burton of Fisher, Indiana.

Burton was traveling westbound on KY Hwy. 90 toward Burkesville, KY when the accident occurred.

The Sheriff’s Department was also assisted by Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
