The Clinton County Grand Jury convened in regular session last Monday, July 16 and returned true bills in open court against seven individuals, with several of the indictments alleging multi-count charges.
The following indictments were handed down in Clinton Circuit Court last week:
* The alleged offense (six counts) of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and a count of burglary-second degree, against James “Jamie” E. Brumley, III, when on or about April 24 through May 28, the defendant took or exercised control over several items of moveable property belonging to Crudewell Oil, Porco Feed and Propane, ATS Construction, Porco Fertilizer, Jeff Hunley and Albany Quarry, each having said values of over $500 and entering and remaining unlawfully in the residence of Albany Quarry with the intent to commit a crime.
* The alleged offenses of wanton endangerment-first degree (four counts), failure to maintain insurance, DUI-first offense and operating on a suspended or revoked license, against Thomas Johnson, when on or about May 25, the defendant drove his vehicle from Old Burkesville Road onto Hwy. 639, crossed the yellow line and struck a vehicle operated by Scott Westergreen, creating a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to Westergreen, Kimberly D. Nasret and two minor children, passengers in the Westergreen vehicle and at the time of the accident was driving under the influence with no insurance and on a suspended or revoked license.
* The alleged offenses of possession of a controlled substance-first degree (meth), possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance first degree-first offense and promoting contraband first degree, against Matthew Parrigin, when on or about May 3, the defendant possessed methamphetamine, marijuana and a controlled substance containing any quantity of meth and had 4 1/2 Alprazolam pills, a marijuana cigarette and a baggie of methamphetamine in his possession while an inmate at the Clinton County Jail.
* The alleged offenses of criminal trespass-second degree, theft by unlawful taking or disposition over $500 and third degree burglary, against Cody B. Owens and Tammy L. York when on or about March 22 and through June 13, the defendants unlawfully remained in a building belonging to Jimmy R. Patton without permission, took or exercised control over building materials owned by Patton entered or remained unlawfully in the building owned by Patton.
* The alleged offenses of tampering with physical evidence and theft by unlawful taking or disposition, against Paulette M. Wilson, when on or about June 6, the defendant unlawfully took or exercised control over an Intex 10 ft. x 30 inch Easy Set Swimming Pool, the moveable property of Fred’s Inc., having a value of less than $500 and attempted to dispose of said pool by concealing it.
* The alleged offense of theft by unlawful taking or disposition over $500 against Jodi Stinson, when on or about January 18, the defendant took or exercised control over a wallet containing $700, the moveable property of Jimmy Corddell.
