Clinton Grand Jury hands down nine indictments

The Clinton County Grand Jury convened in regular session last Monday, August 20 and returned nine indictments in open Clinton Circuit Court.

The following true bills were returned last week:

* The grand jury alleged that on or about May 31, Shaun P. Brodbeck committed the offenses of manufacturing methamphetamine; possessed a controlled substance-first degree (meth); unlawfully possessed a meth precursor; and possessed drug paraphernalia.

* The grand jury alleged that on or about May 13, Jessee Kean committed the offense of burglary-third degree by entering unlawfully in a building belonging to James Brown and the offense of theft by unlawful taking or disposition by taking or exercising control over numerous tools and items of personal property belonging to James Brown, having a value of more than $500.

* The grand jury alleged that on or about April 29 through June 3, Christopher G. Braswell committed the offense of unlawful use of electronic means originating or received with the Commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities, by using a communication system, including computers or computer networks for the purpose of procuring or promoting the use of a minor child.

* The grand jury alleges that on or about January 6, Paulette Wilson committed the offense of persistent felony offender-second degree, by committing the offense of tampering with physical evidence, after having been stood convicted of a prior felony offense within the past five years.

* The grand jury alleged that on or about September 9, 2009 through August 20, 2012, Garrett Gabbard committed the offense of flagrant nonsupport by failing to provide for his minor child or children, said failure having resulted in an arrearage of $8,115.93 as of August 20, 2012.

(An indictment is a statement of probable cause to believe an offense has been committed and further court proceedings are warranted. Those individuals named in an indictment are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.)
