Football takes a break – two road trips left

The 2012 Bulldog gridiron season is winding down, with Clinton County taking a 42-20 loss last Friday night at the hands of Middletown, Ohio on Bulldog field.

That moves the season into the final two outings of the year, after a break this Friday night as the Dawgs have an open date. Clinton County will take its 0-8 record on the road Friday, October 19, to face the Dragons of Green County in a District 3 contest. Kick-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.

Green County takes a 4-3 record into its contest this Friday night against Glasgow.

From there, the Dawgs will head to Eminence High School to take on the Warriors in a contest slated for an 8:00 kickoff. Eminence, Kentucky is located in Henry County, between Louisville and Frankfort. The Warriors will take their 6-1 record to Paris this Friday night.

Soccer ends for girls, boys district past press time

The girls’ soccer team saw it’s season come to an end Monday night, suffering an 10-0 loss in the district tourney at the hands of Glasgow. Clinton finished the season with an overall 3-15 mark, but we’re a young program so look for some good things to come here.

Volley Dawgs drop tourney decision

Likewise, our Volley Dawgs saw their season come to an end on Monday night of this week, dropping a 1-3 decision to the Hornets of Metcalfe County in the district tourney that was hosted here.

The Volley Dawgs finished 12-22 on the season.

Runnin’ Dawgs appearance in the Foothills

As has been the case for the past several years, expect a good showing in the upcoming Foothills Festival 5K Run from our CCHS Cross Country Runnin’ Dawgs. Fans have turned out in increasingly larger numbers in recent years to support not only the Cross Country team members who are competing (in uniform) in the annual 5K Foothills Run, but the other runners as well.

Come on out Saturday, October 20, and enjoy some cool, crisp fall weather and get your Foothills experience off to an early start, and let these runners know we appreciate their efforts and support of our signature fall festival.
