Jack R. Williams, 79, Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Highlands Medical Center in Sparta, Tennessee. He was a native of Berea, Kentucky, son of the late Edgar and Marie McKinney Williams. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict and had been involved in several businesses and organizations in Albany and Columbia. He was formerly part-owner and operator of Shamrock Stone, Inc., president of the Bank of Clinton County, Federal Bank Examiner with FDIC, member of Albany Lions Club, Life Member of VFW Post 6097 in Columbia and active member of Albany First Baptist Church where he had served as Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by two sons, David and John Williams; a brother, Jerry Williams; a sister, Helen Williams; also two grandchildren and former wife, Sue Yates Williams.
Graveside services were held Monday, October 8, 2012 at Berea (Kentucky) Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Arrangements were made through Reppert Funeral Home of Berea.
