Dawgs on the road

After a break last week, the C.C.H.S. Bulldogs will be taking its gridiron game back on the road for two final regular season outings, beginning this Friday night with a short trip up to Green County to face the Dragons.

A district game, the Dawgs will be taking an 0-8 record to Greensburg to face a 4-4 Green County team.

The Dragons are coming off of a 25-14 loss last Friday night that came at the hands of Glasgow, another District 3, 2A squad that now sports a 6-2 overall record.

Friday night’s game at Green County is slated for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

Clinton County will end its regular season campaign on October 26 when they travel to Eminence, Kentucky to take on the 1A Warriors. That final contest of the regular season will kickoff at 8:00 p.m.

Runnin’ Dawgs on the stage at Foothills

Local CCHS fans don’t get many chances to show support for our Cross Country team – the Runnin’ Dawgs, due to the fact that in most seasons, all, or nearly all, of the meets are scheduled on the road.

The one lone exception each year is the Foothills Festival 5K Run, where the members of the CCHS squad compete on the local course and often, take the winning spots.

Such was the case last year when Runnin’ Dawgs’ members won both the male and female overall spots, and did so to the cheers of a large crowd of race watchers that had gathered not only at the finish line, but all along the race course as well.

Seana York took the overall female title last year with a time of 23:54, while Joe Davis not only won the male division, but the overall first place win as well with a time of 18:56.

Race registration at Mountain View Saturday morning begins at 7:00 a.m., and the actual race start is at 8:00 a.m.

Come on out and get behind the runners – it makes for a nice crisp start to a long fall Foothills Festival day!
