A cool and cloudy Foothills XXXIII is in the books

Although last weekend’s cloudy, cool and breezy weather conditions made it a little difficult for the “Mountains Touch The Stars” theme to be seen by those attending the 33rd annual Foothills Festival, the annual fall celebration was able to be presented from start to finish without any weather related cancellations

While the normal “packed house” crowds seen on Saturday were considerably smaller throughout the day Saturday, by the time the afternoon Lip Sync contest rolled round, East Cumberland Street had once again been transformed into a “sea of fans” for the nearly two-hour long show, as can be seen in the top left photo.

At bottom left, the appearance of Aerosmith and that group’s performance of Walk This Way earned a first place win for band members Chris Shelton. Anthony Dalton, Mark Gibson, B.J. McClellan, Junior Gregory and Travis Gregory.

At top right is Kiley Hoppe, who was crowned Miss Foothills Festival 2012 during Thursday night’s pageants.

At bottom right, the Friday night Foothills crowd was treated to a new feature when the Albany – Clinton County Chamber of Commerce presented it’s fireworks show that had been cancelled due to dry weather from it’s origianally planned July 4 presentation.

This week’s Clinton County News contains a host of photos taken during last week’s Foothills Festival, along with several winners from contests and events. More photos will be published next week.

The NEWS would like to thank and congratulate this year’s Foothills Festival Planning Committee members on a “Job Well Done!.”
