A Clinton County woman died last week as the result of injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle auto accident in neighboring Pickett County, Tennessee.

Regina Massengale, 46, of Albany, was traveling west on the Cordell Hull Memorial Drive when the Pontiac Grand Am she was driving collided head-on with a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck.

According to reports, the pick-up truck was being operated by Ralph Lovelace, who along with a passenger, Regina Lovelace, were from Ohio.

The pick-up truck was pulling a boat at the time of the accident.

Reports noted that Massengale dropped off the side of the road while traveling around a curve, overcorrected and then crossed the centerline into the path of the oncoming pickup truck.

Massengale was transported to Livingston Regional Hospital where she later died due to the injuries she sustained in the accident.

The Lovelaces were also transported to Livingston Regional Hospital where they were treated and released.

According to the Pickett County Press, the accident was Pickett County’s second fatality of the year.

Troopers Neil Matthews and Glenn Slaven of the Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
