Clinton woman killed in head-on

A local resident was killed in a tragic two-vehicle accident last week in Clinton County occurring near the Wayne County line.

According to a brief accident report issued by Kentucky State Police, Columbia Post 15, the collision occurred on Tuesday, December 11 at approximately 3 p.m., nine miles east of Albany on KY 90.

Lesia G. (Brumley) Brinson, 46, of Albany, was traveling east on KY 90, operating a 2000 Mercury Sable, when her vehicle entered the westbound lane and struck a 2006 Pontiac G6. The Pontiac was operated by 20-year-old Tara J. Doran of Monticello.

Brinson was pronounced dead at the scene and Doran was flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington for treatment of apparent serious injuries. Both occupants were wearing seat belts, according to the accident report.

The accident is being investigated by Trooper Dewayne Holder.
