In order to remember the small town of Newtown, Conn., teachers, students and staff at the Early Childhood Center assembled around the flag pole Monday morning for a moment of silence.

Students held hands and gathered tightly around the flag pole that stood at half-staff as Principal Tina Langford, left, offered condolences.

One student, Cayden Melton, bottom left photo below, wore a shirt in honor of Sandy Hook Elementary school. The sign in front of ECC also had a message that ensured prayers were going out to the families involved in the deadly shooting Friday morning.

Twenty students between the ages of five and 10 were shot inside their school Friday morning. Six adults also lost their lives during the tragic event.
