The VFW Post honored six high school students last week by announcing the Voice of Democracy winners. In the photo above, Ron Myers, back row right, Ralph Clark, front row left, and Marvel Purnell, back row left, stood with the winners of the contest. Those were: first place Kolby Smith, second place Glen England, and third place Marika Avery. Also pictured is Alex Beaty, Amber Allen and Brittany Brown who were awarded as an honorable mention in the contest. English teacher Martha Harlan was also on hand as the checks were presented.
