Opal Cummings Ford, 87, New Castle, Indiana and formally of Albany, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013. She was the daughter of the late John I. and Minnie Garrett Cummings and wife of the late Keith Ford. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Shirley Jean Cummings and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Dion) Fennell of Greenfield, IN; Virginia (Richard) Harshman, Sullivan, IL; a brother, Donald Cummings, Cadiz, IN; a sister, Martha Dean Covert, Beech Grove, IN; a half-sister, Peggy Covey, Albany; two half-brothers, Lon Cummings, Somerset, KY; Don Cummings, Livingston, KY; also three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Mercer-Hall Funeral Home with final resting place in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Arrangements made through Mercer-Hall Funeral Home of New Castle, Indiana.
