Gertie Young Smith, 73, Albany, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Tom and Mary Magdaline Looper Young. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Audie Cummings and her second husband, Ray Craig and was a well known business woman in this area.

She is survived by three sons, Dr. Michael (Karen) Cummings; Danny (Peggy) Cummings; Greg (Brandy) Cummings, all of Albany; five sisters, Joann Morgan, Russell Springs, KY; Ruth Stockton, Ruby Claborn, Clara Mills Burchett and Sue Thurman, all of Albany; a brother, Andrew Young, Shepherdsville, KY; six grandchildren, Matthew (Stephanie) Cummings, Joshua, Jessica, Daniel, Hannah and Noah Cummings; a step-grandchild, Jennifer Bowlin; and a step-great-grandchild, Chloe Melton.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Jim England officiating. Final resting place in Craig Cemetery. Arrangements made through Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany.
