After six years of construction, the Wolf Creek Dam repair project appears to be headed for a completed status. The construction of a concrete barrier wall that extends to the bedrock surface some 275 feet below the dam is nearly finished with construction crews this week drilling the last secant pile that will later be filled with concrete, completing the cutoff wall that has been put in place to stop water from leaking underneath and through the concrete and earthen structure that forms Lake Cumberland.

As crews began drilling that final void this week, a large banner, shown inset in the upper left of the above photo, was placed near the rig platform noting the significance of the work being completed.
