Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office have obtained a warrant for the arrest of an Overton County man for the beating death of a Jackson County man that occurred in the victim’s residence two weeks ago.

Michael Huffer, 33, of King Lane, Monroe, who is currently being held in the Overton County jail on unrelated charges, is being charged with one count of criminal homicide.

On Friday, March 29, 51-year-old Ronnie Lambert was found beaten to death in his home located at 3989 Morrison Creek Road in Gainesboro. The investigation findings allege that Huffer went to Lambert’s home, robbed him of prescription pills, and beat him on the face, head, and upper body, killing him.

The 15th Judicial District Attorney General requested the TBI investigate the murder along with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Huffer will be transported to Jackson County Jail and held without bond.
