Travis Dewayne Melton, arrested in the shooting death of Donnie Wayne Tayes last September, appeared in Overton County Criminal Court two weeks ago Wednesday.
According to proceedings on March 27, a motions and resolution deadline for Melton is scheduled for April 14. The court will hear motions in the case that same day.
Melton, 35, of Hanging Limb Highway, Monterey, was arrested for the murder of Tayes on September 17, 2012, in the Hanging Limb Community. He was indicted for first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping and assault with threat of bodily injury on February 20 during an arraignment hearing.
Criminal Court Judge David Patterson presided over the proceedings.
