More than 150 parents, students, and community members came out to Albany Elementary School cafeteria on April 23, 2013, for the 1st Annual Clinton County Schools Taste Test Sampler.  The event was an opportunity to showcase some of the changes and improvements to the Clinton County Schools Food Services Program.

Participants sampled some potential new items for next year’s school breakfast and lunch menus, and voted for their favorites.  With more than 75 different items to try, taste testers snacked and voted throughout the evening to the tunes of special music performed by CCHS students Lamon Tyler Hubbs and Jacob Williams.

The most popular sandwich was the Hawaiian chicken salad on croissant. The favorite breakfast item was the french toast and the chicken penne and jumbo popcorn chicken got the most votes among the hot line items.  The biggest winner of the night was the loaded potato soup.  Thanks to Food Services Director Teresa Boils and Assistant Georgia Rigney, as well as all the school cafeteria kitchen managers and cooks for the hard work they put into making this event possible.  Extra thanks also to School Board Member Jeff Sams for his special interest and help in coordinating this event.
