The Kentucky State Police have arrested 31-year-old Bobby Jo Bishop of Edmonton on Thursday, May 2 at 1:25 p.m. at his residence. He is charged with arson first degree, wanton endangerment first degree, and criminal mischief first degree.
The charges stem from an investigation into a mobile home fire that occurred at 1:59 p.m. on April 27 at 7632 Sulphur Well Knob Lick Road in Edmonton. The fire was set from within the residence while Bishop’s wife and child were still inside.
Bishop was lodged in Barren County Jail. Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Alex Wesley is investigating and was assisted by the State Fire Marshall’s office.

The Kentucky State Police are investigating a collision that occurred last Tuesday at 2:45 p.m., one mile east of Edmonton, at the junction of US 68 and KY 1243.
Nineteen-year-old Joseph ‘Colby’ Smith of Edmonton was traveling east in a 2000 Buick when he failed to negotiate a curve and entered the path and collided with a westbound 2004 Chevy.
The Chevy was operated by 55-year-old Debbie Froedge of Edmonton. Smith was not belted and was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital with life threatening injuries. Froedge was belted and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Metcalfe County Coroner.
Trooper Nick Davis is investigating and was assisted at the scene by the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office, Highway Department, Air Methods Medical, Barren-Metcalfe EMS and the Edmonton Fire Department.
