Last weekend’s arrival of the Memorial Day holiday also marked the traditional start of the summer tourism season, and with it, the arrival of thousands of tourists who come here to enjoy both Lake Cumberland and Dale Hollow Lake. Officials are expecting a heavy tourism season this year, with a recovering economy and the completion of the rehabilitation project at Wolf Creek Dam that has resulted in Lake Cumberland’s water level being higher than it has been in several years. In the above photo, local boaters and tourists joined forces Saturday afternoon at a favorite gathering spot in Wolf River near the Clinton County – Pickett County boundary on Dale Hollow Lake.
