Joyce Elaine (Massengale) Carnes, 72, New Castle, Indiana and a native of Wayne County, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late James Elmer “Bud” Massengale and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob. She attended Westview Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her husband, John L. Carnes, Sr.; her mother, Ruby Ada (Perdue) Massengale; two daughters, Tamara (Randy) Dalida and Debra Ada Carnes; two sons, John Lewis Carnes, Jr. and Terry James (Hope) Carnes, all of New Castle, IN; six grandchildren, Joshua Manuel, Jessica Ann-Marie and Shania Brooke Sanchez, Hannah Elaine and Sarah Grace Dalida and Riley James Carnes; also a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Final resting place in South Mound Cemetery.
