Everette Mackey, 94, husband of Alberta Watkins Mackey, died peacefully May 25, 2013.
He was a member of Nicholasville United Methodist Church, was a passionate fox hunter having been published in “The Chase,” a fox hunting resource guide. Mackey was an extension specialist for the Department of Agriculture at the University of Kentucky and was a farmer.
Survivors include two children, Lee Ann Moureaux (George Haley) and Rob (Ruth) Mackey; grandchildren, John Everette Mackey, Robert Mackey, Jr., Colleen Moureaux, Courtney and Blake Mackey and Jane Taylor Mackey-Holloran; four step-grandchildren, Lawrence Lowe, Kara Joy Chapman, Jackson and Savannah Chapman; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray, Herbert and Horace Mackey; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services were held Thursday, May 30 at Betts and West Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Snyder officiating. Burial in the Mackey Cemetery in the Highway Community of Clinton County.
