Whitesburg native Tpr. Edward Shaler Jones (center) received the Kentucky State Police Lifesaving Medal from KSP Commissioner Rodney Brewer (left) and Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Secretary J. Michael Brown (right) on May 23 in Frankfort. An eight-year veteran of the agency, Jones is assigned to KSP Post 11 in London. He is a 1999 graduate of Whitesburg High School and a 2004 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. Jones is the son of Larry and Retia Jones of Albany, Ky.
